  • Open the signed DMG. macOS should identify SwarmCraft Pty Ltd and pass Gatekeeper verification.

Common Setup questions

What does SwarmCraft Setup install?

Setup checks Visual Studio Code, Git, GitHub CLI, and the SwarmCraft VS Code extension, then offers only the installations or repairs your machine needs. Docker Desktop remains optional.

Which Macs and Windows PCs are supported?

The universal macOS installer supports macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. The Windows installer supports x86-64 PCs running Windows 11 23H2 or later.

Will Setup change my machine automatically?

No. Detection is read-only. Setup shows every proposed installation, third-party term, elevation request, and restart implication before you choose whether to apply it.

How are the installers and updates verified?

macOS releases are signed and notarised, Windows releases carry publisher signing, and every release includes SHA-256 checksums, updater signatures, and Azure build provenance. Setup verifies signed update metadata before installation.

Can I set up SwarmCraft manually or through IT?

Yes. The manual checklist remains available for experienced operators, and managed environments can verify and redistribute the signed versioned installers through their existing software-management process.

What happens after Setup finishes?

Setup opens a dedicated SwarmCraft profile in Visual Studio Code. GitHub access, Git commit identity, SwarmCraft sign-in, and your chosen AI provider remain separate, explicit steps.
