Deep Discovery is for an operation whose boundary needs evidence, owner review, or explicit record-ownership reasoning. It runs in one local Git workspace before a SwarmCraft project exists or project-creation credits are used.

When to use it
Use Deep Discovery when:
- knowledge is distributed or contradictory
- actors, rules, exceptions, records, or controls need investigation
- sources disagree and the owner must resolve the reviewed position
- bounded record ownership needs migration or continuity reasoning
- the owner wants an exact consent boundary before server processing
If a focused intake can establish the workflow while the existing system keeps its records, use Fast Start.
What the route does
The local provider helps turn four opening answers, selected sources, and owner corrections into nine reviewable Markdown documents. An early disposable prototype may help the owner correct direction by exception. The documents—not the prototype—are the reviewed record.
What remains local
The repository binding, raw binaries, unselected files, unrelated working-tree content, local paths, provider session, and draft work remain local. Package preparation is deterministic and does not ask Codex or Copilot to generate tasks, identifiers, assertions, or a hidden Blueprint.
Only the exact selected text package may leave the machine after preview and digest-bound authorization. It contains the nine reviewed documents, selected .md or .txt sources and reviewed Markdown sidecars, plus package metadata and digests.
What completion means
- Start or resume one bound workspace.
- Select evidence and complete the owner-guided work.
- Review all nine documents or justify
NOT_APPLICABLE. - Preview and authorize the exact Discovery Package.
- Review the quote and create one project and initial board.
Deep Discovery uses a fixed 1,600-credit orchestration fee plus measured server AI usage. It is not a subscription. After credit approval, the server privately creates the same project-and-board deliverable as Fast Start; there is no hidden Blueprint or second board approval.
Complete Deep Discovery. Use Deep Discovery recovery if eligibility, provider, source, review, package, upload, or generation checks stop you.
